Dhaka, Feb. 17 -- The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) on Sunday showed former Awami League lawmaker from Chattogram-6 ABM Fazle Karim Chowdhury arrested in a case filled for crimes against humanity over atrocities committed during the July-August mass uprising.
The three-member tribunal led by Justice Md Golam Mortuza Mozumder passed the order on Sunday (February 16), allowing the prosecution's plea.
The court then ordered police to send the former lawmaker back to jail.
"He is accused of abetting, inciting and participating in the attacks on students and people along with other leaders and cadres of Awami League in Chattogram on July 16. According to the eyewitnesses, he also supplied arms to the attackers.
