Dhaka, July 6 -- Attorney General Md. Asaduzzaman on Saturday said that those convicted by the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) for crimes against humanity during the July mass uprising will not compete in the elections.
"The convicts by the International Crimes Tribunal will not take part in the elections," he said while addressing a debate competition in the shadow parliament on the way to implement the spirit of July mass uprising at FDC in Tejgaon.
He also said that the tribunal has the jurisdiction to hold trial of the organization involved in crimes against humanity.
"Awami League is the name of a banned entity. Those who are directly and indirectly linked to the organisation, they will be exposed to justice," he said.
