Dhaka, May 2 -- A human chain was held in Alirgaon Union No. 5 of Gowainghat Upazila demanding the cancellation of the death sentence of former Sylhet District Chhatra Dal member Annu Malik Liton and his unconditional release.

The hour-long human chain was held in front of the Alirgaon Union Complex building on Friday (May 2) afternoon. People from all walks of life of the union participated in the human chain.

The speakers in the human chain said that Liton has been sentenced to death in a politically motivated and fabricated case as a victim of the Awami League's revenge.
