The promotion of lecturers from the 32nd batch of the BCS general education cadre to the 37th batch has been stalled for 17 months.
However, their students have been promoted to other cadres after completing their studies, said the teacher leaders with regret.
They have been observing a nationwide strike under the 'No Promotion, No Work' program since Sunday until they are promoted.
On Monday, for the second day, 17 lecturers of Kishoreganj Government Women's College and 51 lecturers of Government Gurudayal College formed a human chain by observing a strike.
