Dhaka, Dec. 11 -- The police arrested a woman named Ayesha, who was the main suspect in the case filed over murder of a woman and her daughter at Mohammadpur in Dhaka on Monday, in Jhalakathi on Wednesday.

Jewel Rana, additional deputy commissioner of the Mohammadpur Zone of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, said that Ayesha was arrested from Nalchity Upazila.

The bodies of Laila Afroze, 48, and her 15-year-old daughter Nafisa Lawal Binte Aziz were discovered inside their seventh-floor flat on Shahjahan Road on Monday.

Their throats were slit. Ayesha had worked at their house in Mohammadpur.
