Dhaka, June 20 -- Bangladesh's Abdur Rahman Alif secured the gold medal in the men's recurve individual event at the Asia Cup Stage-2, defeating Japan's Miyata Gakuto 6-4 in a thrilling final held in Singapore on Friday.
Alif made a strong start, winning the first two sets 28-27 and 29-28 to take a commanding 4-0 lead. However, Gakuto mounted an impressive comeback, edging the next two sets 28-27 and 27-26 to level the score at 4-4.
In the decisive fifth set, Alif held his composure under pressure and delivered a stellar 29-26 finish to seal the victory and claim his first international individual gold medal.
