Dhaka, Nov. 29 -- Dhaka city is highly vulnerable to earthquake damage, with 15 areas identified as the most at risk.

These high-risk areas include Sabujbagh, Kamrangirchar, Hazaribagh, Kafrul, Ibrahimpur, Kallyanpur, Gabtoli, Uttara, Sutrapur, Shyampur, Manikdi, Mohammadpur, Pallabi, Khilgaon, and Badda.

Although parts of Old Dhaka have relatively strong soil, many buildings there are old and structurally weak, increasing the risk of collapse in a major earthquake.An earthquake measuring 3.6 on the Richter scale was felt again in Dhaka and surrounding areas on Thursday, November 27, at around 4:15 pm.
