Dhaka, May 3 -- The High Court has released the full verdict in the high-profile murder case of Abrar Fahad, a second-year student in the Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) department at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (Buet).

Abrar was brutally beaten to death on October 6, 2019, by members of the Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) at Sher-e-Bangla Hall. The assault was reportedly triggered by a Facebook post he had made criticizing water-sharing agreements between Bangladesh and India. His lifeless body was discovered later on a staircase inside the dormitory.
