Dhaka, Oct. 2 -- Heavy rainfall has lashed Dhaka and other parts of the country, leaving many neighbourhoods in the capital swamped. Meteorologists have warned that the trend could continue for the next four days, raising the risk of further flooding.

Streets in areas such as Mouchak, Malibagh, Shantinagar, Moghbazar, Dainik Bangla Intersection, and Kakrail were submerged, forcing residents to wade through water while trying to reach their destinations. According to the forecast, heavy rainfall is likely not only in Dhaka but also across all eight divisions of the country. The intensity of the showers may vary, but weather watchers warned of the possibility of very heavy downpours over the coming days.
