Dhaka, Aug. 4 -- Dhaka experienced heavy rainfall overnight on Sunday as monsoon winds remain active across Bangladesh. According to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD), this wet spell is expected to persist for another three to four days.
Meteorologist Hafizur Rahman reported that between 6am Sunday and 6am Monday, the capital received 62 mm of rain-classified as heavy rainfall by BMD standards.
"This pattern is likely to continue for the next three or four days," he said. "Even if rainfall isn't heavy every day, scattered showers may occur once or twice daily."
Rainfall between 44 mm and 88 mm within 24 hours is considered heavy, while anything over 88 mm is classified as very heavy rain.
