Dhaka, Feb. 6 -- The High Court (HC) has cancelled the government's decision to appoint 6,531 candidates as assistant teachers in primary schools across the Dhaka and Chittagong divisions.
A High Court bench, comprising Justice Fatema Najib and Justice Shikdar Mahmudur Raji, delivered the verdict on Thursday.
The court directed the authorities to conduct a fresh recruitment process based on merit.
On November 19, the High Court issued a rule and suspended the recruitment process for six months after the initial hearing of a writ petition filed by 30 deprived candidates. Following this, the recruitment of 6,531 candidates was halted.
