Dhaka, Dec. 14 -- Sharif Osman bin Hadi, spokesperson of Inqilab Mancha and a prospective independent candidate for the Dhaka-8 constituency, remains in an extremely critical condition after being shot by assailants, according to the medical board of Evercare Hospital overseeing his treatment.

In an official statement issued on Saturday, the multidisciplinary board led by Professor Dr Md Zafar Iqbal said Hadi has suffered severe brain damage.

As surgery has already been completed, his condition is now being managed conservatively with full life support and strict brain protection protocols. Doctors said his kidney function has improved, but his overall condition remains highly critical.
