Dhaka, Oct. 9 -- Information and broadcasting Adviser Mahbuz Alam said that the interim government would give approval for new media in the coming days.

"The Interim government would not shut down any media. As no media would be stopped, initiatives have been taken to approve new media. This approval would be according to the previous rules and regulations," he told the journalists at the Secretariat on Wednesday. About the previous law for permission, he said, "It could be better if we could give the permission of new media following new rules. But if we go for formulating new law, this government would not be able to give any permission for any new media."
