Dhaka, March 18 -- Government officials will have an extended break for the upcoming Eid ul-Fitr, with a five-day holiday announced. In addition to the five days, the break coincides with the Independence Day, Shab-e-Qadr, and the weekly holidays. As a result, the country will effectively experience a long holiday period, with offices open for only two days during the 11-day stretch before and after Eid.

The Ministry of Public Administration has set the dates for a five-day holiday for Eid ul-Fitr, expected to begin on March 29, depending on the moon sighting.
