Dhaka, June 3 -- Home Adviser Lieutenant General (Retd) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury today reaffirmed the government's commitment to ensuring a safe and uninterrupted journey for holiday makers during Eid-ul-Azha.
"We are committed to making the journey to and from Dhaka safe and smooth during Eid-ul-Azha, just as we did during Eid-ul-Fitr," he said after a meeting with transport owners and workers at the Home Ministry in the Bangladesh Secretariat.
The Home Adviser issued a set of instructions to transport owners and workers that included prohibiting overcharging of fares, refraining from operating unfit vehicles, employing skilled drivers, ensuring adequate rest for drivers and taking photographs of all passengers to enhance security.
