Dhaka, Nov. 23 -- The government has activated a nationwide emergency response following the recent earthquake, with the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief establishing a central response cell under the Disaster Management Directorate to coordinate rescue, relief, and information-gathering efforts.

The centre, launched on Friday, is operating round-the-clock to compile district-wise preliminary damage assessments.

Officials are maintaining continuous communication with deputy commissioners, ensuring that updates on casualties, infrastructure damage, and immediate needs are relayed in real time. Citizens can contact the emergency response centre by calling 0258811651.
