Dhaka, Nov. 24 -- An Assistant Professor from the English Department of Gono Bishwabidyalay was killed in a road accident in Dhamrai, Dhaka.

Akhtar Ul Alam, a resident of Dhanbari, Tangail, and a former student of Jahangirnagar University's English Department, died in the accident on the Dhamrai-Kaliakoir regional highway at Vhariaria area on Sunday morning.

He was traveling by CNG auto-rickshaw from Amtola Market to Dhulivita when a collision occurred with a motorcycle coming from the opposite direction.

He was critically injured and taken to Dhamrai Upazila Health Complex, then transferred to the University of Dhaka Health Center where he was declared dead. His body was later taken to the University of Dhaka for funeral prayers befor...
