Dhaka, Sept. 24 -- Gold prices in Bangladesh have reached a new historic peak, climbing to Tk 194,858 per bhori (11.664 grams).

The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (Bajus) announced the revised rate, which will take effect from tomorrow.

According to Bajus, the price has increased by Tk 3,662 per bhori in the latest adjustment, reflecting the rise in pure gold rates in the local market.

Gold prices have been on an unrelenting upward trend, setting records almost weekly. In September alone, the price of 22-carat gold jumped by more than Tk 16,000 per bhori.Industry experts link the surge to global bullion market movements, the taka's devaluation, economic uncertainty, and persistent inflation.
