Dhaka, Oct. 31 -- The government through National Legal Aid Services Organization (NLASO) from 2009 to September, 2025, has provided legal aid to 1, 32,417 inmates.
"All these inmates were given free legal aid through the legal aid offices in the 64 districts," a NLASO monthly release said.
NLASO, a statutory organization of the government under the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, said a total of 13, 03, 643 have received its services so far. "A total of 1, 91,493 people received legal advices by calling on the national toll free helpline number 16430, while 26,479 people got the service from Supreme Court Legal Aid Office," it added.
