Dhaka, Oct. 31 -- The upcoming edition of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) is set to take place between December and January.

Ahead of the tournament, the franchise selection process is currently underway, with 11 organisations expressing interest in owning teams.

To ensure a smooth and professional event, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has entrusted event management company IMG with full responsibility for organizing the tournament.

The BPL Governing Council held discussions with the potential franchise owners on Thursday, where several of them demanded the return of the players' auction system instead of the existing draft format. The matter was confirmed by BPL Governing Council Member Secretary Iftekhar Rahman Mithu.
