Dhaka, Oct. 16 -- Former Awami League lawmaker Kabirul Haque Mukti has been sent to jail after courts in Narail denied him bail in four sabotage cases filed under Kalia and Naragati police stations.
Mukti, the former MP from the Narail-1 constituency, was produced before the Senior Judicial Magistrate Court in two cases filed by Kalia police at around 10am on Wednesday. Judge Ratna Saha rejected his bail petitions.
Later, he was taken to the Senior Judicial Magistrate Court-2 for hearings in two other cases lodged by Naragati police. Judge Maruf Hasan also refused to grant bail and ordered his detention.Mukti was brought to the Narail court under tight police security this morning.
