Dhaka, Dec. 13 -- Former BNP lawmaker Major (Retd.) Akhtaruzzaman of Kishoreganj-2 constituency has formally joined Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami.

On Saturday morning, he met Jamaat-e-Islami Amir Dr. Shafiqur Rahman at the party's central office and completed the formalities by filling out the preliminary membership form. During the meeting, Major (Retd.)
