Dhaka, Feb. 12 -- Sylhet Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Sher Mahbub Murad inaugurated an assistance program for flood-affected families in Sylhet on Monday. The inauguration ceremony and an exchange of views meeting were held at the premises of SOS Children's Village Sylhet in Dayamir Union, Osmani Nagar Upazila, on Monday afternoon.
Speaking at the event, Deputy Commissioner Murad emphasised the importance of collective efforts in building a humane society. He highlighted that community participation is essential for improving the socio-economic conditions of disadvantaged people.
