Dhaka, Sept. 25 -- Deputy Commissioner of Tangail, Sharifa Haque, has extended financial support to Mohammad Abdul Kader Smaran, a speech-impaired athlete and multiple gold medalist at Special Olympics events.
Smaran, from Beltiabari village in TangailSadar, is a student of Tangail Intellectual Disability School. He won three gold medals in both the 2015 Special Olympics World Summer Games in the USA and the 2019 Games in Abu Dhabi. He also earned a gold in the Asia-Pacific Regional Games in Chennai, India. In recognition, he received the National Sports Award in 2020.
