Dhaka, March 20 -- Bangladesh Football Federation's Women's wing Chairman and FIFA Council member Mahfuza Akter Kiron was granted bail on Tuesday in a defamation case filed against her under Section
500 of the Bangladesh Penal Code. Magistrate Sabbir Yasir Ahmed Chowdhury of the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka granted her bail till April 2 for Tk 10,000 bond on Tuesday afternoon, said Kiron's counsel Liakat Hossain.
"This is a bailable case. In addition, the court considered her social status and her illness in granting the bail," Liakat told newsmen, adding that his client is a patient of cancer disease.
