Dhaka, Sept. 6 -- Noted folk singer Farida Parveen has been admitted to the capital's Universal Medical College Hospital after falling ill again. She was admitted to the hospital on September 2. She has been kept in the intensive care unit (ICU).

Farida Parveen's eldest son Imam told the media that the artiste was scheduled to undergo dialysis on September 2.

Accordingly, after being taken to the hospital, her physical condition deteriorated severely and she was quickly taken to the intensive care unit.

Imam said, "She was taken to the ICU after some more problems were detected after dialysis. She (Farida Parveen) is now in the ICU. Her condition is critical."
