Dhaka, July 22 -- The Food Department launched the sale of rice and flour in the open market under the government's food-friendly programme in the district.Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Abdul Awal inaugurated the programme at Taj Mor in the district town this morning.Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Ibnul Abedin, Acting Assistant District Food Controller Aminul Kabir, Upazila Food Officer Golam Maula, and other officials were present at the inaugural event.According to the District Food Controller Office, rice will be sold at Taka 30 per kg and flour at Taka 24 per kg in the open market under the programme.Each person will be allowed to purchase up to 5 kg of rice and 5 kg of flour.
