Dhaka, July 30 -- A Dhaka court has ordered the seizure of former National Board of Revenue (NBR) Chairman Najibur Rahman's luxury apartment and the freezing of multiple financial accounts as part of an ongoing corruption investigation by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md. Zakir Hossain Galib issued the order on Tuesday after the ACC filed a petition seeking to secure Rahman's suspected ill-gotten assets.According to court documents, the order covers a 3,276-square-foot apartment in the capital's Ramna area, valued at approximately Tk 36.5 million.

In addition, seven bank accounts and five beneficiary owner (BO) accounts under Rahman's name will remain frozen.
