Dhaka, May 30 -- A court on Thursday sent to jail Freedom Fighter and former teacher of Jagannath University (JnU) Professor Anowara Begum in a case lodged over attempt to murder Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal leader Sujon Mollah during July mass uprising.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mostafizur Rahman passed the order as police produced the retired teacher before the court and pleaded to keep her behind bars till end of probe, reports BSS.

A team of Sutrapur police station arrested Professor Anowara Begum from in front of JnU on May 28.

According to the case documents, Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal JnU unit brought out an anti-discrimination rally in front of Chief Judicial Magistrate Court on July 19, last year.
