Dhaka, April 13 -- Turin Afroz, a former prosecutor of the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT), has been sent to jail following the completion of her remand in a case filed over the alleged attempted murder of a student during the anti-discrimination student movement.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Sarah Farzana Haque on Saturday rejected Afroz's bail plea and ordered sending her to jail after a hearing.

Sub-Inspector Suman Mia of Uttara West Police Station, the investigating officer in the case, produced Turin before the court upon completion of her four-day remand and sought an order to keep her in jail.
