Dhaka, Sept. 13 -- Detectives in Dhaka have apprehended former Deputy Inspector General of Police AKM Nahidul Islam.
Police sources say he was taken into custody at his Eskaton residence in the capital on Friday night. A senior Detective Branch (DB) officer, who requested anonymity, confirmed the arrest on Saturday. The official noted that the action followed a warrant issued by the International Crimes Tribunal.
Acting on intelligence, DB personnel detained Nahidul Islam and subsequently transferred him to the investigators overseeing the case.
