Dhaka, June 23 -- A team of Dhaka Metropolitan Police's Detective Branch detained Bangladesh's former chief election commissioner KM Nurul Huda from the capital's Uttara area on Sunday evening.
He was arrested after a group of people had cordoned him and informed the police.
Confirming the arrest, Uttara West Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md Hafizur Rahman stated, "There is a case against former CEC A.K.M. Nurul Huda. He has been arrested, and further legal procedures are underway."
The arrest comes on the same day the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) filed a case with Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station against 24 individuals, including three former Chief Election Commissioners, accusing them of conducting fraudulent and controver...
