Dhaka, Feb. 3 -- A Dhaka court on Sunday sent Enamur Rahman, former state minister for disaster management and relief, to jail after rejecting his bail petition in a case filed over death of a hawker in Mirpur on July 19 last year.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Saifuzzaman passed the order on Sunday (February 2). Earlier, Mirpur Model police station Sub-Inspector Md Moniruzzaman also the Investigation Officer in the case produced him before the court and pleaded to keep him behind the bars. Police arrested the former state minister from the city's Vatara area on January 26.
