Dhaka, July 8 -- A Dhaka court on Monday placed former law minister Anisul Huq on a two-day remand in an arms case.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Minhazur Rahman passed the order, said sub-inspector Moktar Hossain, Banani Police Station's general registration official at the court.
According to the case statement, Anisul is the owner of a licensed pistol under his name in Banani police jurisdiction.
The Ministry of Home Affairs suspended all firearms licenses granted for personal security from January 6, 2009, to August 5, 2024, and instructed to return the weapons by September 3, 2024.However, he did not submit his licensed firearm to the police station or inform the police from September 4, 2024, to May 5, 2025.
