Dhaka, Oct. 12 -- Primary and Mass Education Adviser Professor Dr Bidhan Ranjan Roy Podder today urged everyone to remain vigilant in preventing typhoid. He made the call while addressing the inaugural ceremony of the "Typhoid Vaccination Campaign 2025" at Dhaka Residential Model College as the chief guest.

Professor Bidhan noted that typhoid remains highly prevalent across the country and its treatment often incurs significant costs. "Furthermore, the growing resistance to antibiotics has rendered many treatments ineffective, leading to the tragic loss of countless children each year. This underscores the urgent need to prioritize food safety, consistent hand washing, hygiene practices, and vaccination," he added.
