According to the World Health Organization, about 1.19 million road users are killed in road crashes globally every year.
This information was shared by Sharmeen Rahman, Road Safety Project Coordinator of Dhaka Ahsania Mission, at a media briefing titled "Road Safety Law is Essential for All" held on Sunday (22 June) in city's the Dhaka Ahsania Mission Health Sector office, Shyamoli.
Focusing the importance of the Road Safety Law, key speaker Sharmeen Rahman further stated that 92% of global road crash deaths occur in low- and middle-income countries, and more than half of these fatalities involve pedestrians, cyclists, and motorcyclists.
