Dhaka, June 23 -- Sri Lankan cricket veteran Angelo Mathews received a wave of love and appreciation after announcing his retirement from Test cricket.
The first Test against Bangladesh in Galle marked the end of his international Test career, and following the match, Mathews delivered an emotional farewell speech reflecting on his journey."I've been overwhelmed with love and support since announcing my retirement," Mathews said. "It's been beyond anything I could have imagined. I'm truly humbled. I'm forever grateful to those who supported me from the beginning. It hasn't been an easy journey-full of highs and lows-but that support helped me carry on."
