Dhaka, July 23 -- An eight-day long tree planting campaign and tree fair-2025 has begun in Jessore with the theme of "Planned afforestation, build a green Bangladesh".
The fair was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Md. Azaharul Islam at the Central Eidgah ground on Saturday (July 19) afternoon by cutting the ribbon and releasing balloons and festoons at the initiative of the District Administration and Social Forestry Department of Jessore.
Speaking as the chief guest at the discussion meeting on the occasion of the fair, Deputy Commissioner Azaharul Islam said that one tree can save the lives of 10 people.
