Dhaka, March 24 -- BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has expressed concern amid the growing controversy over the Bangladesh Army's role during the July-August mass upsurge, accusing certain forces of attempting to pit the army against the people.
"The country is experiencing instability, and people are seeking the return of peace. No one wants the situation to revert to what it was before," he said this while virtually addressing an iftar party held at the Ladies Club in Dhaka on Monday.
The BNP acting chairman said, "It is important to stand united together and confront all conspiracies at any cost. The Liberation War was fought with great expectations, and for 16 years, political party leaders and activists made sacrifices."
