Dhaka, Feb. 9 -- Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) AMM Nasir Uddin has emphasised the importance of neutrality in the electoral process, affirming that it will not align with any political party. He expressed concern over criticisms directed at the commission, underscoring the challenges faced while striving to maintain neutrality in a politically charged environment.

The CEC made these remarks while addressing a function at Nirbachan Bhaban in the capital on Sunday.

He said, "We, who are in the commission, do not want to engage in politics. we do not want to support or oppose any political party. we want to remain neutral."
