Dhaka, Nov. 16 -- The Election Commission (EC) held discussions with 12 political parties on Saturday and is scheduled to meet another 12 parties on 17 November as part of its ongoing engagement with registered political groups ahead of the 13th national parliamentary election.

Md Asadul Haque, assistant director of the EC's Public Relations Wing, confirmed the developments on Saturday.

The consultations with political parties began on 13 November. On Sunday (16 November), from 10am to 12pm, the EC is set to meet Gono Forum, Gono Front, Islamic Front Bangladesh, Islami Oikya Jote, Bangladesh Supreme Party (BSP), and Bangladesh National Party.
