Dhaka, Dec. 21 -- The Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU) has announced plans to stage a protest outside the vice-chancellor's office, demanding that Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Hall be renamed.
The student body has proposed renaming it as Shaheed Osman Hadi Hall.In addition, DUCSU has called for the women's hall currently named after Sheikh Fazilatunnesa to be renamed Felani Hall.
Felani Khatun, a 15-year-old girl from Bangladesh, was killed by Indian border guards in 2011 in Kurigram, an incident that caused widespread national outrage.
Alongside the renaming demand, the student union has also urged action against teachers, officials, and staff members "who supported the July atrocities."
