Dhaka, Nov. 19 -- On Tuesday, due to the connection with a case filed under the Anti-Terrorism Act, Dhaka University Deputy Registrar Muhammad Lovelu Mollah was arrested.
Shahbagh Police Station Chief Mohammad Khalid Monsur said that Lovelu was placed under arrest in the case alleging that he funded marches by the Bangladesh Chhatra League, the outlawed student wing of the Awami League.
"A few days ago, police filed a case in which evidence was found of Lovelu Mollah providing financial assistance for marches conducted by the banned Chhatra League. We have arrested him in connection with that case," he said.
