Dhaka, May 23 -- Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Mayor-elect and BNP leader Ishraque Hossain has pledged to ensure a swift and efficient waste management operation during the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha, aiming to keep the city clean in the wake of the festival's sacrificial rituals.

In a verified Facebook post on Friday morning, Ishraque declared himself the "people's mayor", emphasizing that his responsibilities go beyond formalities. "Taking the oath is merely a formality. As the people's mayor, I bear the responsibility to ensure adequate waste management preparations before Eid," he stated.
