Dhaka, March 27 -- Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus on Thursday urged the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) to assist in expanding Bangladesh's export of fruits and farm products to China. He emphasised the need for greater market access to boost the country's agricultural trade.

The chief adviser made the request during a meeting with FAO Director General Qu Dongyu on the sidelines of the Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference, reports BSS.

Prof Yunus said China is emerging as a top importer of agriculture and aquaculture products, but Bangladesh was unable to tap into the market due to a lack of understanding of the Chinese markets.
