Dhaka, Feb. 21 -- The 28th edition of the Dhaka International Trade Fair (DITF) has received export orders worth TK391.82 crore, which is 17.25 per cent higher than last year.

Apart from this, goods worth approximately Tk400 crore were sold at the fair, which is about 15 per cent more than last year's fair sales, the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) said in a press release after the closing ceremony of the DITF on Tuesday.

The EPB organised the closing ceremony at the fair venue at Purbachal's Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Centre in the capital.

Speaking as the chief guest at the ceremony, State Minister for Commerce Ahsanul Islam Titu said, "Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has declared handicrafts as 'product of the year'."
