Dhaka, Dec. 15 -- Childhood favourites Mickey Mouse, Cinderella and Luke Skywalker from Star Wars are being brought to life through artificial intelligence (AI).

Entertainment giant Walt Disney has signed a $1 billion investment and licensing deal with AI company OpenAI.

OpenAI said the deal will allow users to create and share videos featuring more than 200 popular characters from Disney, Marvel, Pixar and Star Wars using its video generation tool, Sora.

This is OpenAI's first large-scale licensing deal, where Disney characters can be easily transformed into animated and realistic videos using text prompts. The deal is initially for three years.
