Dhaka, April 3 -- As the nation gears up for the upcoming Upazila Parishad elections, a notable twist in the strategy of the ruling Awami League has emerged.

Contrary to the norm, the party has decided not to field any party candidates in the upcoming polls scheduled to commence next month.

However a contrasting picture has started to emerge as AL's Members of Parliament (MPs) and ministers are openly endorsing their preferred candidates for the local body elections, posing a significant challenge for the party's high-ranking officials to control their own members.
