Dhaka, Dec. 10 -- Foreign Adviser Md Touhid Hossain today said Bangladesh will continue diplomatic efforts to bring back deposed and convicted former prime minister Sheikh Hasina from India.

"We will try to convince India to send her back to Dhaka," he told reporters at the foreign ministry. Touhid noted that Hasina's repatriation ultimately depends on New Delhi's decision.

Responding to reports suggesting possible third-country resettlement for the former premier, he said he had only seen such claims in media coverage. "I did not receive any information through diplomatic channels," he added. Hasina entered India following her ouster on August 5 and was later convicted in multiple graft and abuse-of-power cases by Bangladeshi courts. ...
