Dhaka, Oct. 7 -- Dhaka and Islamabad is keen to explore new areas of enhanced bilateral ties including trade and economics between the two countries for mutual benefits.

The remarks came when High Commissioner of Pakistan to Bangladesh, Imran Haider, met with Bangladesh's Foreign Secretary, Asad Alam Siam, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Monday to discuss strengthening bilateral relations.

The two sides exchanged views on expanding cooperation in trade, economic engagement, connectivity, multilateral forums, and other areas of mutual interest.

They also reviewed several proposals for collaboration, which are expected to be finalised at the upcoming meeting of the Joint Economic Commission.
